The Mandala Tapovanam Project (MTP) is seeking investors for the creation of a unique organic farm and meditation center, to be located 54 kms south of the enchanting town of Mysore, India.
The center will be situated near the tiny village called Kottanahalli Hura Hobli, Nanjangud Taluk. This charming rural town has a population of 250 to 300 families, who will benefit enormously from MTP's vision.
Profits from the the MTP Foundation will be used to improve the sanitation, education, and health facilities of the people of Kottanahalli Hura Hobli. The farm's growth will also ensure the employment of local villagers, many of whom are currently seeking work.
The MTP Foundation has already acquired 10 acres of agricultural land near this remote village, which is surrounded by an additional 550 acres of fertile Western Ghat forest land that is suitable for cultivation of all types of food, including grains, vegetables, and fruits.
MTP has already started growing some vegetables, including fruits, melons, pumpkins, and gourds. We already employ a number of villagers in organic cultivation.
MTP is planning to procure an additional 50 acres of agricultural land in and around the entrance of the existing land. We aim to cultivate more organic farming as well as create jobs for nearby villagers.
This additional land can also be used as a source of medicinal herbs used widely in ayurveda herbs such as neem, pongamia, sandal, ashwagandha, aloe vera, safed masoli, and patchouli.
We also plan to open an ashram complete with meditation and yoga facilities, a library, an art studio, and a relaxing ayurveda treatment center for the use of Mysore yoga students who need a quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of Indian city life. Interested yogis will also be encouraged to participate in community service during their visit.
MTP plans to build kuteeras (small cottages with full amenities) around the farm where the students can stay. Local cooks will prepare organic food for visitors.
Visitors needn't travel far to catch a breathtaking view of the adjacent national park reserve, filled with exotic animals such as elephants, bison, malabar lungars, leopards, deer, rabbits, honeybees, butterflies, parrots, woodpeckers, and peacocks.
Investors can expect a return on their investment through income from MTP's agriculture, earnings from cottage rental, as well as a lifetime membership to their new "home away from home."
